The 6th edition of the City and Values Forum was on 14 July 2011 in the Municipality of Maipú (Chile). The Forum was organised by the Mayor’s Office of the Municipality of Maipú, Centro Democracia y Comunidad and Bilbao Metropoli-30, with the support of the Basque Government through the Basque Country delegation in Chile.
The Forum is targeted at holders of public office and private sector personnel working in local and metropolitan development, and at management staff at both local level and the social and economic area as a whole. The idea is to make both public and private sector players aware that urban development must be based on improvements in values and changes in behaviour as well as on essential improvements in infrastructures and services.

The Association first organised the City & Values Forum in Bilbao in 2006, with its purpose being to consolidate a value-based strategy for the development of cities, and it has established itself in several Latin American cities. Forums have thus been held in 2007 in Valparaíso (Chile), in 2008 in Cuernavaca (Mexico), in 2009 in Bogota (Colombia) and in 2010 in Miraflores (Lima, Peru).
The 2011 edition held in Maipu, Chile, was focused on women and their connection with the city, analyzing this space in its urban, social, economic and rights dimension. The forum discussed subjects such as violence, security, leadeship and participation, entrepreneurship, family and community, with the collaboration of local high level business and institutional speakers, as well as representatives of entities associated to Bilbao Metropoli-30: Bilbao City Council, Idom, Mapfre, BBVA and Eutokia, among others.
